This year Arkhefield participated in Grocon’s Great Cubby House Build, with our Arkhefield designed cubby auctioned at King George Square on the 12th of October, 2014. Design teams were formed from the joint venture team from the Parklands redevelopment project – Arkhefield, ARM and Archipelago.

The Great Cubby House Build, which challenges architects to design the coolest and most creative cubby house, raised $20 000 total for Kids Under Cover, a fantastic cause that provides support and a brighter future to vulnerable young Australians who are either homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Our cubby, which was constructed by Grocon NSW, is called the “Cube-y House”. Designed to resemble a treehouse in a pixelated computer world, the inspiration for our cubby is an exploration of what “play” means to kids today, combining traditional outdoor play and computer games.
