Arkhefield, Arkhefield Internship, Student Internship, Architectural Student

Each year, Arkhefield runs a design competition to uncover Queensland’s most talented architectural students to undertake the Arkhefield Internship program for twelve months.

Now in its’ third year, the program continues to give students the opportunity to develop their architectural design skills in a diverse team whilst working on real projects. We’ve seen some very talented people join our team and are looking forward to seeing a high level of entries submitted again this year.

Our current interns have been in the program for nine months now, and share their thoughts on what the program has offered them since they arrived.

Our Interns

Andrea Dukes, Arkhefield, Arkhefield Internship, Student

“Seeing my personal skills and responsibilities develop has been a pretty big highlight for me. Comparing my pre-Arkhefield self to me at present, I can see just how far I’ve come and how valuable the internship has been for me. Getting to know how each person works and what their role is has helped me understand how projects come together. Their mentoring has been a massive bonus. I think that my strongest view of Arkhefield is it’s a team environment and everyone helps everyone be successful.” – Andrea Dukes, QUT

Moeen Ahmid, Arkhefield, Arkhefield Internship, Student“A great experience for me has been the opportunity to work on a variety of projects throughout various phases. Learning the right processes and protocols has helped me gain a more in depth understanding of how various systems work. It will definitely influence the way I approach future projects at Uni and adapting to real world practices. Arkhefield is a great place to work – it’s full of great people and has been amazing for my personal and professional development.” – Moeen Ahmid, QUT

David McEvoy, Arkhefield, Arkhefield Internship, Student

“From day one we are given real responsibilities and allowed to grow and develop. I think the highlight of the program is that it really gives a realistic view of all areas of what a typical architect would be engaged in day to day. I most enjoy the fantastic office culture and the range of projects I get to work on – from residential, to multi res, large civic projects, interior projects, and refurbishments.” – David McEvoy, QUT
