The firm is headed by our Director, Andrew Gutteridge, and supported by a broad team of committed and enthusiastic Associate architects, registered & graduate architects, technicians, interior designers and students.
Our team works in an open plan Studio environment within a Heritage listed building in Brisbane. We have a strong, team focussed environment where egos are left at the door. Our focus is on supporting each other through actions, and communicating in an open, honest and constructive way to gain the best possible results. Above all, we love what we do, and this is at the heart of every team member in our Studio.

ANDREW - Director – FRAI
Andrew studied architecture and worked in London before graduating from The University of Queensland with honours in 1988. Andrew is a founding partner of Arkhefield and has broad experience in the management of the design process of complex projects. His skills in strategic direction and problem solving have been key to the delivery of successful outcomes on many projects. Andrew’s focus is on the corporate and institutional sectors, delivering projects to established clients throughout Queensland.
FRANK - Associate - B Arch (Hons)
Frank studied architecture at the University of Dortmund in Germany and graduated with Honours in 1996. He joined Arkhefield after relocating from Sydney where he worked on a variety of large scale, high profile projects and smaller boutique one-off projects for internationally recognised architectural firms. Frank has considerable experience in managing the design process and every player involved from project initiation through to completion. Frank is a lateral thinker and strategic problem solver with innovative solutions for both schematic planning and finer details.
KAREN - Associate - B Arch (Hons) B BE
Karen studied architecture in Brisbane and Milan and graduated with honours in 2002. She has obtained considerable experience over a variety of project types and has successfully delivered multi-residential, institutional and commercial projects. Karen has focused her career towards varying scales of mixed use and multi-residential developments and has a passion for socially responsible projects. Karen believes good outcomes are best achieved with collaborative design processes.
ANGELA - Associate - B BE (Hons)
Angela graduated with Distinction from the Queensland University of Technology in 1998, and currently teaches with the final year design team in Interior Design at QUT. She has broad experience in project scale and type within the commercial, residential, retail, and hospitality fields and leads the Interior Design team within Arkhefield working with Project Partners to deliver all interior aspects of our projects. She has a passionate interest in all areas of design and the design management process.
ANNE - Associate - B Arch (Hons)
Anne is an experienced design and project architect with a background in a diverse range of project types including educational, institutional, sporting, commercial, heritage, master planning and multi residential buildings. Anne has had extensive involvement in all stages of project delivery from briefing, design, documentation and contract administration and has been a design and project architect from conception to building completion on a number of medium scale projects in Canberra and Brisbane.
