This house includes the refurbishment of an existing 1930’s timber house and a new extension to the rear. The construction methodology was based on lightweight materials and the creation of a deep extension to filter the western sun.
A new primary living level was established at the first floor level of the existing house where all family functions are provided. The rear building provides a parent’s retreat to the upper level with overflow communal areas linked into the rear landscape.
