The Dixon Street project transformed an old automotive warehouse into four boutique homes, while maintaining the atmosphere and scale of the original building.
The existing brick perimeter walls and apertures of the warehouse were maintained, while the dilapidated roof structure was replaced. The new building rises above the original walls, with the design taking maximum advantage of the northerly sun and breezes, while orienting the living and bedroom areas towards New Farm Park.
Dixon Street represents Arkhefield’s ongoing practice of reusing redundant structures to create a new type and pattern of dwelling within the city.
