Harbourside included the development of a marketplace and restaurant precinct at industry best practice standards.
Arkhefield were appointed to design a number of the fresh food tenancies, and to write the design guidelines to encourage their tenants to design to best practice. The intention was to deliver tenancies which offer their customers the highest quality specialist fresh food.
The project included the design of a fruit market, baker, deli, butcher, fresh and cooked seafood outlet, Gelati bar, and juice kiosk. The design needed to encompass contemporary design principles and simple detailing whilst creating a memory of a traditional marketplace experience. Conceptually, the design establishes all product on display as art (with the makers as artisan) and offers a gallery experience within the display of all food.
