Kurrawa Surf

Life Saving Club

The Kurrawa Surf Life Saving Club sits at the heart of the Gold Coast community, marrying civic, community and recreational functions in a place where the city meets the beach.

The building provides a new home for the Surf Life Saving community - patrol members, nippers and senior competitors - and for the club’s supporters who can enjoy the 600 seat restaurant, café, bar and gaming lounge along a prime Gold Coast beach frontage.

The Club has realised its brief for a bold and visionary architecture while maintaining references to its functional use as a local Surf Life Saving Club.

Key to the design was a generous, civic-scaled outdoor room, an extension of the public realm of the adjoining the parklands. The expansive, sculpted roof with a dynamic uplit sunscreen contributes to both the casual beach culture and lively Broadbeach street atmosphere.

The Broadbeach precinct is a key destination for residents and visitors to the Gold Coast and Kurrawa Surf Club will continue to play a key role in providing a quality hospitality venue for its guests as well as continuing our long and rewarding history as a successful Surf Life Saving Club in a state-of-the-art facility.
