Waterfront Brisbane focuses on giving the river back to the city and its people. The vision for the 1.5ha historic site sees the creation of a revitalised city centre riverfront destination with generous civic spaces as a stage for city life.

The 7.1ha site began as Parklands – the official Athletes Village for the 2018 Commonwealth Games – and transitioned to the build-to-rent scheme now known as the Smith Collective, housing approximately 2500 residents.

The River Quay master plan opens an underutilised area of the South Bank Parklands to provide a first class dining precinct and public realm that embraces the sub-tropical lifestyle.

Arkhefield and Urbis recently collaborated to submit an entry titled ‘Retrofix’ to the Queensland Government’s Density and Diversity Done Well competition. This future housing study explored how an existing suburban block could be retrofitted to facilitate sharing, enable densification and promote community interaction

Designed to the principles of a transit oriented development – one of the first initiatives in Brisbane – the Arkhefield Circa Nundah Village Master Plan combines commercial, retail and residential elements within an integrated public realm to create a vibrant new precinct for the community.

The historic Barracks precinct on Brisbane’s city fringe sat vacant for 20 years. Arkhefield revived the project and realised the potential of the site by rethinking the master plan to create a dynamic mixed use precinct.
