“For me, architecture is about the corporeal experience achieved through materiality. It should evoke and respond simultaneously. Good architecture understands this principal and endeavors to push the boundary for the user.”

James joined Arkhefield as a student of architecture. He is drawn to the intrinsic ability materials have, and its capacity to influence how people interact with a space.

James recently returned from a semester abroad at Politecnico di Milano in Italy. There he said the experience broaden his understanding of how architecture can impact people’s daily life. He noted that architects like Carlo Scarpa and Renzo Piano became indelibly inspirational for good design as it is important to celebrate the ability for materials to seamlessly blend tradition and modernity.

James joined Arkhefield for the opportunity to work on commercial, residential, and large public projects. He hopes to continue refining and developing his knowledge within architecture, while incorporating the desire for beautiful spatial experiences.

When he is not at Arkhefield, you can find James working on his culinary skills for his cookbook or working out.
