“Effective user experiences in spaces is about crafting clear narratives. They should be intuitive, foster knowledge , and serve as a reliable guide through the movement of place.”

Interior designer Jonathan Morehen uses research and an understanding of people’s experience to design places for the public realm. With a background in graphic design and architecture, Jonathan’s main passion is interior design stemming from an interest in how people interact with public spaces and enhancing their experience.

Jonathan thrives during the concept design phase and enjoys weaving the strategic use of data and research into his creative process, helping him create a layered experience for people who use the spaces he creates.

Hospitality projects and the creativity they require are a particular speciality for Jonathan. He also has experience on large-scale projects across industries like aeronautical and master planning, education, workplace, stadiums, and residential projects that include private homes and multiresidential developments.

Jonathan started his design career at Arkhefield as a student ten years ago, before working at practices around South- East Queensland. He recently returned to Arkhefield because of the practice focus on strategic thinking and how design can enhance and improve places within the city and add to the way people live.

Jonathan has a Bachelor and Masters of Architecture from Queensland University of Technology, with a second Major in Interior Design. In his free time Jonathan likes to keep active and enjoys cycling and going to the gym.
