The Kurrawa Surf Live Saving Club sits at the heart of the Gold Coast community and typifies the balance between the building’s dual civic and recreational functions as a place where the city meets the beach. The Arkhefield design realises the brief for bold and visionary architecture while maintaining references to its functional use as a local Surf Life Saving Club.

The 15-storey mixed use development designed by Arkhefield will include commercial areas for medical operators and an associated high quality hotel. Health care and short-term accommodation have great synergy and will complement the broader Spring Hill health precinct.

The Cowboys Leagues Club approached Arkhefield with the exciting brief of re-thinking the typical pub/club design. The new building exterior has given the Cowboys Leagues Club a new ‘face’, and the building has become an architectural beacon in the city centre of Townsville. The double height entry space signifies the new entry into the Club whilst the lobby space reflects the importance of the Cowboys Leagues Club for the community of Townsville.
