Jason Preston has been a registered architect for more than 30 years and managed large practice studios with great success. While his strength as an architect lies in a broad range of experience – including notable contributions to large-scale, complex projects – Jason’s capability as a leader comes from an understanding that people are the most important part of any successful practice.
Jason draws from diverse expertise in education, government, commercial, mixed-use, retail and aviation projects. This versatility allows him to dive in, adapt and deliver - shifting easily from early master planning concepts to the finished product.
While his most memorable projects include 1 William Street; ‘The One’ at 300 George Street; and a small pavilion-style bar at the Stockmans Hall of Fame in Longreach; Jason believes his success can be measured by his ability to see a wide variety of projects from design through to completion.
When designing, he knows the success of a project depends on an ability to listen, understand and be open to how the winning ‘big idea’ for each project might formulate. This same approach has informed his decades-long contribution to The Board of Architects Queensland, where he has supported many students to reach accreditation.
Jason enjoys steering a practice that understands itself and always wants to move forward. Away from work, he maintains this same momentum by playing sports and keeping active.
